In a May 2019 article in Value in Health Journal, Seo et al perform a pharmacoeconomic analysis of sotalol loading comparing the costs and benefits of a 1-day inpatient loading of IV sotalol versus the standard 3-day loading protocol of oral sotalol by creating a budget impact model to estimate changes in hospital costs, savings, and revenue. The results suggest that the overall cost of initiating drug therapy per patient for the hospital can be reduced $2,900 by using IV sotalol compared to oral sotalol. https://www.valueinhealthjournal.com/article/S1098-3015(19)30649-7/fulltext
